Sunrise Mountain is an extended family of members known for their warm fellowship, acceptance of all people, and who really enjoy being together.
- One of the great treats and benefits of being a part of a church family is the close and enriching fellowship and friendships that occur among those who attend.
What Fellowship Is...
- We view fellowship as simply being “two fellows in the same ship,” so we emphasize our commonalities and enjoy spending time together with one another.
- As a result, Christian fellowship becomes a spontaneous and wonderful bi-product of serving the Lord as part of a family of faith God has brought together, one that celebrates our uniqueness while being engaged in a shared goal and mission.
That means we enjoy ...
- A shared vision
- Shared decisions in reaching our goals
- Shared responsibilities in accomplishing our mission
- And spending time together, enjoying one another's company.
Planned Fellowship Events
- In addition to the natural and spontaneous nature of Christian fellowship, we like to deliberately plan fellowship events to foster unity, help break down any social barriers that might in some way hinder close relationships, provide a safe and non-threatening opportunity for our non-Christian neighbors and friends to participate and discover that Christians are real people who enjoy having fun, and we do indeed enjoy having fun alongside one another.
- So, whether it's a ladies’ brunch or men’s fishing trip, a youth pizza party or children’s trip to the zoo, seniors’ “desert in bloom” tour or church-wide pot-luck dinner or chili cook-off, a Crafts Fair, Valentine Banquet, Soup-er Bowl Fellowship, Fall Festival, a Bible study class’s Christmas party, or one of any number of other kinds of planned fellowship events...
- They all have three things in common:
- a) They will be a lot of fun
- b) It will give us an opportunity to enjoy one another’s company and get to know one another better as a family of faith
- c) It will be a reflection of two of the church’s purposes:
- Fellowship--providing support and encouragement to one another
- And evangelism / outreach--reaching out to those who don’t yet have a relationship with Jesus and encouraging them to do so.
- So, whether we're enjoying a scrumptuous pot-luck meal at one of our Family Meetings (business meetings held in a non-formal family way), laughing together at parties, working alongside each other in meaningful missions / work projects, or simply enjoying the joy that comes with being related together as believers, we understand and appreciate what it means to be "fellows in the same ship" together.
You're invited! ... Come on in! ... Enjoy the fun !
